Category: Fundamentals Ethylene glycol is a gastric irritant and can produce nausea and vomiting shortly after ingestion. The acute neurologic stage occurs over 30 minutes to 12 hours after ingestion with ethylene glycol, producing inebriation and euphoria similar to ethanol.
